10 Reasons You Should Make Your Own Website

Too few people talk about this online, so I thought I must share my thoughts with you guys, website building should be done solo. Do it your self to not only, save money, but be faster, smarter, and so much more efficient online. You may experience a learning curve, but it is worth the trouble. I hope this post not only inspires my readers to make their websites but gives them the courage to face their fear of WordPress.

This website has affiliate links that I earn a commission from without any extra cost you. This means that if you click on a link and purchase something, I might make a little money. You will not be charged extra, and some of the affiliate links I use have discounts so stay tuned!

#1 It Is Completely Free

The first and perhaps most important reason is that it is free. If you are new to website building, let me tell you that a website made to your wants and needs by someone else can cost anywhere from 300$ up to 5000$. I wish this were not true, but website building is very costly; if you can handle a computer website building will not be much of a problem.

I have already said that you should start with WordPress as your website building platform it is entirely free, and it makes up a third of the websites of the internet world. One of the most reasonable hosting companies areĀ Bluehost, so what next? You can read my other posts on where to start and how much it will cost you.

#2 Being Confident

When you start a website for whatever the reason, having built it from scratch will make you completely familiar with your website and how to use it. What with PHP updates and the like you may be overwhelmed if you have a website pre-made and handed to you.

Statistics say if one has a pre-made website, people are less likely to access their website because they are afraid of breaking their site. It is not only a waste of your money but if you find yourself hesitant to make a simple change, write new blog posts and update your contact information, then growing your online presence is impossible. I would have chosen the hassle-free route had my finances not been utterly nonexistent.

After doing everything from the bottom up, I am not only wiser in the field of website building; I am surprised to discover how easy it is. Admittedly starting a website with WordPress takes patience, and there is a lot to learn, but I am no computer engineer or coding master. I got my first laptop access when I was twenty, and yeah, I am not fifty now with thirty years of experience. Still, moneywithi.com is my baby, and I know it like I know my name. Trust me when I say if I can do it, so can you!

#3 Showcase Your Website Building Skills

If your website is for website building, then this is child play for you. Not only will you save an incredible amount of money, but you can also make attractive web design so customers will immediately see your potential when they land on your website. If you want a website for another entrepreneurial field, then you can still do it yourself.

It may seem daunting at first, and you may be frustrated at times, but it has its benefits. Feel free to tell me what you think of my website building skills.

#4 Necessity Over Cost

If you want a website for writing blogs, an online business, or any other freelance work avenue ask yourself the critical question; can you spare the money on a web designer? If you are starting any work, your primary objective is to make money not spend it.

So don’t. It is a necessity to earn money, but the costliness is all up to you. Start your website with as little as possible because when first starting out, it will take time, hard work and patience before you are found online. You and me, we are just a drop in the vast online pacific ocean. My advice is don’t blow your money before you have made some.

Your top priority should be to make some money because if you cannot make an income, then why are you wasting it on a lost cause?

#5 Efficiency And Time

You may ask does it take longer to make your website over having it custom made. Yes and no. You see web developers are busy people they are already doing other projects, and they take a month at least before giving you your site. I will let you in on a little secret it took me less than a month to make my site.

Like everyone on this earth I have a job, household chores, pets, family crisis and more; so out of a twenty-four-hour day I would wake up early and try my hand at website building, for about two hours. If my day were a little less full, I would do an hour or two in the evening as well (all this on someone else’s borrowed PC). They were days when I did nothing at all.

So you see just because you have a life to live; time can be made for this. My website building helper was, is, and always will be YouTube. There is a lieu of information on how to do anything on YouTube, and website building is one of them.

#6 You Can Make Your Website Look Professional.

Before writing this post, I did read many articles with headings like this “10 Reasons You Should Not Build Your Own Website”, and I just rolled my eyes at all ten of them. They say to make your website look professional; you have to hire a website builder. The good news is that you do not always need pro help.

All your website needs is an about page, a home page and a blog post page. You can make multiple pages, and every site is different. Professionalism doesn’t come from flashy websites; you can showcase your professionalism with a continuous flow of your content and an up to date website.

The most important thing to remember is that everyone online is searching, reading the content and leaving. No one is surfing your site to first check if it is a well-made site. Unless you are a business owner who wants to make a website to promote your restaurant or whatever your current business is you can build your site free.

#7 Make Your Custom Site.

If you build a website, you can add, subtract, and the sky is the limit in all the things you can do your site. Of course, when you make it yourself, you can customize it with little effort. There are claims that if you have a theme, you cannot customize it completely without coding. Well, on WordPress with or without a theme, you can customize everything without coding. I know because I did it.

#8 You Can Optimize Your Site For Search Engines.

If you use WordPress over Wix and the like, you will most certainly be found in google searches. WordPress is built in a way that makes it already search engine friendly. By using WP as your website builder, you are already search optimized for search engines case and point.

#9 You Can Have Great Analytics For Your Site

What are analytics you may ask? It is just an algorithm that will tell you all sorts of valuable info like how many visits your site is getting every day. There are multiple ways in which you can gather analytics. Google Analytics is one of the most common. It is free! On WordPress, there are plugins like JetPack that is primarily for all sorts of analytics. These are all easy to use, and website friendly so have fun!

#10 Make Your Site Mobile-Friendly.

So apparently one of the reasons you should not build your website is because your site will not be mobile-friendly!? This is not true at all because even Wix has mobile-friendly web design. The reason this is an issue is that most people are on their mobile phones instead of their desktop purely for convenience. WordPress makes your site adapted for mobile phones automatically, so fear not!

My last thoughts are I hope you got something of value and please tell me if I went wrong somewhere. I believe we all have a brain that can be put to good use and honestly, why not do it yourself and learn so much while you are at it.
